The electric kettle is a very common and handy little kitchen appliance, because of its convenience and quicker boiling than a stovetop kettle. But do you know How to Remove Hard Water Build-Up and Clean an Electric Kettle?

The electric kettle is a very common and handy little kitchen appliance, because of its convenience and quicker boiling than a stove top kettle. With colder temperatures approaching it gets used even more at my house. And that means even more cleaning is necessary.

The downside to this convenience is the calcium build up on the inside of the kettle, which isn’t good for several reasons. The more build-up in the kettle, the longer it takes for water to boil, lessening the intended performance and convenience of the appliance.

Therefore, consistent cleaning is necessary maintenance to increase its life span and prolong efficiency. It also affects the taste of the water. Water boiled in a clean kettle without the calcium build up seeping into it results in the best tasting water.

During boiling, the minerals do not evaporate like chlorine, for example, but builds up and crusts on the bottom. This hard and unsightly build-up is very hard to remove with just soap and water but is quickly and easily removable with an acid like vinegar.

So don’t let it spoil your tea, read on to see the handy step by step instructions on how easily it can be done.
